Dakbunglow Chicken

A delicious chicken recipe from Bengal. It is said that it's a lost recipe!

So, let's revive it😋


Ingredients:

  • Chicken- 600 gms

  • 2-3 whole small potatoes

  • 2-3 boiled eggs

  • Curd- 4 tbsp

  • Ginger garlic paste- 2tbsp

  • onions- 3 medium

  • Haldi-1tsp

  • Salt- to taste

  • Mustard oil- 1/2 cup (5tbsp)

  • cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp

  • cloves-2

  • cinnamon- one inch

  • dry red chillies- 3-4

  • bay leaves-2

  • green cardamom- 3

Recipe:

  1. Dry roast cumin seeds, cardamom. chillies and cinnamon and grind it.

  2. In a bowl take chicken, curd, haldi, salt, ginger garlic paste and 2 tbsp of mustard oil (or deshi ghee) and mix well.

  3. Marinate for minimum 1/2 to 1 hr.

  4. Heat 3 tbsp oil and fry the potatoes and eggs.

  5. To the oil add 2 bay leaves, 2 cloves, 1/2 tsp sugar and finely sliced onions.

  6. Fry till golden brown.

  7. Then add marinated chicken and fry on high flame for 3-4 mins.

  8. Lower flame and add potatoes and the masala mix,

  9. Cover and cook adding a little water when required.

  10. When done adjust water as per requirement.

  11. Now enjoy the deliciously rich lost recipe of chicken dakbunglow!!
