Adrak-Hari Mirch ka Achaar | Ginger and Green Chillies Pickle

Quick to dish up and delicious always - This is a classic pickle that brings life to the most mundane of meals!

Preservation Time: None

Storage Instructions: consume within a week


Ingredients:

  • Fresh Green Chillies 100 gms- cut in bite sized pieces.

  • Ginger 50gms- Julliened in 1/2 inch pieces

  • Rye seeds/ mustard seeds 2tsp

  • Saunf, jeera, methi and kalonji seeds 1tsp

  • Haldi 1tsp, salt and red chilli powder as per taste.

  • Juice of one lemon/ two tsp vinegar.

  • Mustard oil 3tbsp


Recipe:

  1. Wash and dry chillies and ginger.

  2. Now cut them in small pieces.

  3. Put them in sunlight for 2 hours.

  4. Alternatively you can dry them under a fan too.

  5. Put them in a mixing bowl.

  6. Dry roast all the whole spices lightly.

  7. Then grind them coarsely when they have cooled.

  8. Add them to the green chillies and ginger bowl,

  9. Now add salt, haldi and red chilli powder as per taste.

  10. Lastly add the lemon juice and mustard oil.

  11. Mix well.

  12. Your pickle is ready to be consumed immediately.
